COMBINE at "DEFENDER 2025: International Symposium"

The DEFENDER 2025 International Symposium was held on 6 November 2025 in Hamburg, bringing together experts in pandemic preparedness and high-risk pathogen research. Organised by Stephanie Pfänder (coordinator of the DEFENDER project), the symposium successfully strengthened networks and highlighted the importance of cross-project cooperation for future preparedness.

COMBINE was represented with a keynote by our coordinator Christian Sieben, who presented key insights from the project under the title "Dissecting emerging viruses one particle at a time", as well as with a poster by Jan Schlegel titled "Biological Codes of Pathogens". For COMBINE, the event offered a valuable opportunity to highlight project achievements and strengthen collaboration across European initiatives.
